What is Sateen?
Sateen sheets use a one yarn under, three or four yarns over pattern. This weave pattern gives them a slightly heavier feel than percale and make the sheets feel more luxurious.
Sateen sheets have a smooth feel and a slight sheen. Sateen bedding is ideal for those who prefer softness over crispness. Although slightly less airy than percale, they still breathe very well while offering a soft feel. If you are looking for a cozy, soft, classic sheet that sleeps a bit warmer and is softer than percale, sateen is for you.
